The communication of DI policy in particular and legal knowledge related to economic matters in general for students - potential depositors –is important in helpingyoung intellectuals getbasic knowledge aboutthe development of the national banking and financial system and providing potential depositors with proper understanding of the role of the deposit insurance policy as well as legitimate rights and interests of depositors. In order to achieve this goal, DIV has recently cooperated with colleges and universities to create“playgrounds” for students to share useful knowledge. This could be considered asan extracurricular activity integrated with legal education.
Mr. Vu Van Long - Deputy General Director of DIV shared his view that through extracurricular activities to introduce DI policy, DIV’s target was to get easy access to students, who themselves and their families at present and in future need basic information on DI policy and their interests when depositing money at credit institutions. By this way, each student wouldbe able to promote their pioneering spirit of the youth and intellectuals as well as their citizenship responsibility in order to join hands with DIV to bring DI policy more closely to the practice, to help people understand and confide in the policies of the Party and the State, thus contributing to the stable development of the national economic and financial system.
The recent contest "Understanding the law ondeposit insurance and the operations of Deposit Insurance of Vietnam" showed that students were very interested in relevant policies.
Keeping up with the trend of learning legal knowledge on the platform ofinformation technology, the contest was organized througha software provided by the Youth Union of Economics Faculty in Can ThoUniversity. Besides, Youth Union-Economics Faculty -Can Tho University continuously updated the information about attendance, schedule of the contest finalon the Facebook page of the Faculty. Students couldclick on the link toregister the contest, search for information about the contest, awards, reference materials, etc.

Thismade the “playground” more attractive to students. There were more than 6,000 entries to complete the online test by students from the departments of Accounting and Auditing; Business Administration - CommerceBusiness; Finance and Banking; Economics - International Business; Marketing - Tourism; etc..
The contest awardingceremony of the was attended by 160 students with excellent test results. Also at the ceremony, a short documentary was showed to the students of the Economics Faculty, Can Tho University for briefly introducing the DI policy, the establishment and development as well as the achievements of DIV.
Nguyen Kim Oanh –majoring in Accounting – Auditing at theEconomics Faculty of Can Tho University, who was awarded the first prize in the contest said: “The contest is an useful playground and extra-curricular activityintegrated with DI policy for students, who will contribute significantly to the country's socio-economic development and will be potential depositors”.
Associate Professor, Ph.D Le Khuong Ninh - Dean of Economics Faculty, Can Tho University highly appreciated the active and useful coordination and professional support ofMekong River Delta Regional Branch of DIV. The faculty members encourage students to participate in contests held by Inter-department Coordination Board, the Unit Executive Boardsat the Economic Faculty of Can Tho University. This contest was really an effective way to hita large number of target audiences at the same time to gain basic knowledge about DI policy as well as DIV's operations.
In general, despite facing many challenges in communication activities, DIV always receives great support and cooperation from insured institutions, theprovincial branches of State Bank of Vietnam , universities, authorities and unions. DIV has been trying to invest considerable resources inthese activities as well as to take advantage of the assistance of relevant parties. Therefore, the DIV expects to get feedbacks onthe DI policy in order to propose more practical policies for better protection of the interests of depositors.
Furthemore, DIV always strives to introduce innovative ways to bring DI policy closer to the public, especially young people - potential depositors. This is also under the orientation of the Government onfinancial education- which is now one of the leading prioritiesin Vietnam.
