The event was participated by Mr. Pham Bao Lam - Chairman of the DIV's Board of Directors; Mr. Dao Quoc Tinh – General Director of the DIV; representatives of the DIV’s Board of Directors, heads and staff of departments at the DIV’s Headquarters. On the DPO’s side, the participants were Madam Sengdaovy Vongkhamsao – General Director of the DPO, heads and officers of the DPO’s key departments.

Speaking at the bilateral meeting, Mr. Pham Bao Lam highly appreciates the cooperation achievements between the DIV and the DPO since the signing of the revised Memorandum of Understanding in 2015 and suggested bilateral cooperation directions in the future. Madam Sengdaovy Vongkhamsao – the DPO’s General Director, in turn, expressed her desire to further strengthen mutual cooperation through sharing and exchanging experience in deposit insurance.
At the end of the meeting, both the top leaders agreed that the upcoming cooperation activities would be proposed and implemented by the Research and International Cooperation Department (DIV) and International Cooperation Group ( DPO) at the earliest opportunity.
On the same day, the webinar entitled "An introduction to microfinance institutions in Vietnam and the deposit insurance accounting principles" was also organized.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dao Quoc Tinh– the DIV’s General Director stated that in Vietnam, microfinance institutions play an important role in supporting low-income people to access more suitable loans, thereby contributing to poverty reduction and social stability. According to the Law on Deposit Insurance, microfinance institutions must be members of the deposit insurance system. DIV is in charge of supervising and examining their operational condition as well as compliance with the legal regulations on deposit insurance.

The DIV’s practical experience in accounting expertise related to DI premium collection and reimbursement was shared in detail with the DPO, with the aim of providing a source of useful reference for their operational improvement.
The webinar took place in an open and positive atmosphere, receiving a lot of attention from the DPO. Many questions raised by the DPO were satisfactorily answered by the DIV's departments.
At the end of the webinar, the DPO’s top leader highly acknowledged the DIV’s experience sharing as well as the effectiveness of the online seminar. Therefore, the acquired knowledge could contribute to improving professional operation of the DPO, she said.
