The DIV’s online participation from the headquarters
From the DIV, the meeting was attended by Mr. Pham Bao Lam – Chairman of the Board of Directors; Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Binh – Deputy General Director; managers and staff of the Research and International Cooperation Department and the Secretariat of the Board of Directors. From the CDIC, there were Mr. Norman Chu – Chairman; Mr. William Su – President; Ms. Yvonne Fan – Executive Vice President and representatives from the International Relations and Research Office.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Bao Lam – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the DIV expressed his sincere appreciation to the CDIC for their generous support in the past 15 years. Since the first signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between two organizations in 2006, various valuable and useful bilateral activities such as workshops, conferences, study visits, and training courses have been organized for two deposit insurers to share their information and knowledge of deposit insurance. Through those programs, the DIV has acquired valuable experiences to accomplish its core operations, increase its staff’s capacity and contribute to the good implementation of its assigned tasks. In turn, Mr. Norman Chu – Chairman of the CDIC extended his gratitude to the DIV’s enthusiastic support to the CDIC during the past time.

In addition to reviewing their bilateral activities in the past 15 years, the two organizations also discussed their future cooperation plan. On this occasion, the DIV proposed to continue to receive the CDIC’s knowledge and experiences in its strengths such as communication, resolution of weak credit institutions, and differentiated fee model.
The two parties also agreed to further cooperate and keep in touch to update information and knowledge of finance and banking and deposit insurance in each jurisdiction, as well as support each other in strengthening the other’s role in the International Association of Deposit Insurers and its regional committee and technical committees.
