The Conference focused on the need for cooperation and experience sharing among deposit guarantees in dealing with crisis under the circumstance that many multi-national, large-sized banks operating in multi-sectors failed . A lot of experts from advanced deposit guarantees shared ways of improving coordination among domestic agencies, enhancing capacity of deposit guarantees and international cooperation, contributing to work out contingency plans.

The Deposit Insurance of Vietnam had bilateral meetings with 5 deposit insurers which have had mutual long-lasting special relations, including: Central Taiwan Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC), Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corporation (PIDM), the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan (DICJ) and Laos Deposit Insurance Corporation (DPF). At these meetings, the partners shared their views of development of deposit insurance in each country, and expressed the desire to strengthen and enhance relations, proposed new ways of reasonable cooperation towards establishment and development of the deposit insurance scheme. The General Director of DIV – Mr Nguyen Quang Huy stresses that maintaining and signing new Memorandums of Understanding between DIV and strategic counterparts will lay a basis for long-lasting cooperation, learning and sharing experiences of issues relating to deposit insurance policies, laying a basis for cooperation, information sharing in the coming time.
Also within the framework of this visit, the working group participated in the 30rd Anniversary of the Central Taiwan Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) at the invitation of this deposit insurance.
