Attending the event were Ms. Dang Thi Dao - Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam’s provincial Branch in Hung Yen and representative leaders from the supervisory departments.
The representatives of the DIV were Ms. Pham Bao Khanh - Executive member of the Board of Directors, Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Binh - Deputy General Director, and leaders of a couple of departments from the DIV’s headquarters.
The representatives of the University of Finance and Business Administration were Mr. Le Tuan Hiep - Chairman of the School Council and members of the School Council; faculty representatives and over 300 students.
The representatives of the DIV Regional Branch in Hanoi were Mr. Tran Quoc Thanh -Branch’s Director, members of the Board of management, and department leaders.
Speaking at the event's opening, Mr. Tran Quoc Thanh provided an overview of the DIV and its operations, emphasizing the importance of deposit insurance in the development of the banking system and the broader economy.
The Branch's representative presented the overview of the deposit insurance policy, the achievements over the 25-year implementation of the deposit insurance policy in Vietnam, and key contents of the Development Strategic Plan for Deposit Insurance through 2025, with a vision towards 2030 to help students understand the DIV's role in protecting depositors and contributing to ensuring safe and sound operations of the credit institution system. The organizers also showed videos on the establishment and the operations of the DIV and the DIV Regional Branch in Hanoi.
The event sparked significant interest among students, especially in the discussion session, which focused on the banking and deposit insurance policy.
In the Q&A session, Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Binh, Mr. Tran Quoc Thanh, and Mr. Dao Van Tu - Vice Principal of the University of Finance and Business Administration answered students' questions to help them better understand the banking and deposit insurance policy and acknowledged their suggestions to improve future efforts in promoting deposit insurance policy to students in a way that better aligns with their educational needs.
The discussion on deposit insurance policy at the event
A highlight of the event was the "Learn about Deposit Insurance Policy and DIV’s Operations" Minigame, in which students enthusiastically participated. At the end of the Minigame, 14 winning entries were announced, including 01 first prize, 01 second prize, 02 third prizes, and 10 participation prizes. Representatives of the State Bank of Vietnam’s provincial Branch in Hung Yen and the Chairman of the School Council praised the role and contribution of the deposit insurance policy and the DIV in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of depositors, contributing to maintaining the stability of credit institutions, ensuring the safe and sound development of banking activities in the area.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Pham Bao Khanh emphasized that the objectives of the Development Strategic Plan for Deposit Insurance is to achieve the target of 45% of depositors understanding the core aspects of deposit insurance policy by 2025 and 55% by 2030. Therefore, the event was a part of a broader initiative to achieve this objective.
Ms. Pham Bao Khanh also praised the Minigame competition and the discussion session, noting that these activities had successfully engaged students in learning about deposit insurance policy.
On the sideline of the event, the organizers announced the launch of the online contest “Learn about Deposit Insurance”, which was running from October 7 to November 2, 2024, to mark the 25th anniversary of the DIV. The contest offered attractive prizes and aims to raise awareness of deposit insurance policy while promoting the image and activities of the DIV to the public; thereby helping to improve their understanding of deposit insurance.
Closing the event, Mr. Tran Quoc Thanh expressed his appreciation to the attendees for their participation and feedbacks. He also hoped that the event provided a deeper understanding of deposit insurance policy and the work of the DIV to the students - the future owners of the country - who will, together with the DIV, contribute to the implementation of the deposit insurance policy.
