According to the Resolution, during the meeting held on June 21, 2025, the Government examined and provided comments on two draft laws and six policy documents related to legislative development, which include the Policy Document for the Replacement Law on Deposit Insurance.
The Government highly appreciates the State Bank of Vietnam and the Ministries, according to their functions, tasks and powers, for promptly preparing and submitting the draft laws to the Government in accordance with regulations. It also acknowledged the active participation of other relevant ministries and agencies in contributing ideas and completing draft laws and refining the legislative proposals with a high sense of responsibility, ensuring quality and progress.
Specifically, concerning the Policy Document for the Replacement Law on Deposit Insurance, the Government agreed on the need to develop the Replacement Law on Deposit Insurance to enhance the legal framework, guarantee the proactive, effective, and safe functioning of the DIV, increase revenue resources, strengthen financial capability, and reduce risks.
Simultaneously, the Government concurred with the components outlined in the five policies proposed by the SBV in Submission No. 91/TTr-NHNN dated June 20, 2025. The Prime Minister assigned the SBV to take the lead and collaborate with relevant ministries and agencies to study and incorporate the suggestions from Government members for further revision and enhancement of the policy contents in accordance with applicable regulations; proactively prepare the draft Law for submission to the Government at the Special Session on Law Making in July 2025.
