Four months after launch, the Organizational Committee received 33,233 entries. As a result, the Organizational Committee awarded two first prizes to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam (Nam Dinh) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong (Ho Chi Minh) for the essay and multiple-choice competitions. Two second prizes were awarded to Ms. Nong Thanh Thuy (Hanoi) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (Information Technology Center, Industrial and Commercial Bank of Vietnam) for the multiple-choice competition. Two second prizes were awarded to Mr. Bui Dai Dung (Hanoi) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong (Dien Bien) for the essay competition, and there were other valuable prizes. The good essay prize was selected and awarded to Mr. Hoang Viet Dung (Lang Son) by Nhan Dan Newspaper.
Making his opening speech at the award ceremony, Mr. Thuan Huu emphasised: “over the past 10 years, the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam has marked an important advance of the Government in the process of improving the banking and financial system. DIV’s activities aim to protect the interests of depositors and contribute to the safe and sound development of the banking and financial activities, thereby strengthening public confidence in the banking and financial system. However, this is still a relatively new field in Vietnam”. Assessing the competition, Mr. Thuan Huu affirmed that the competition was successfully held on all aspects in terms of quantity and quality of participation and created a strong impression for the public as well as regulators in an effort to innovate the deposit insurance policy for the purpose of welfare and sustainable development. Attracting public interest in the DIV’s activities, the competition also aroused people’s deep faith in the deposit insurance policy developed by the Party, the State and the Government.
At the award ceremony, Mr. Bui Khac Son, DIV’s General Director said that the aspirations and recommendations proposed by people in the competition were useful reference information for lawmakers and authorities to develop and implement the deposit insurance policy more effectively in Vietnam.
