The leader of the Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corparation (IDIC) delegation was Mr Halim Alamsyah, the Chairman; the Central Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) Mr Hsien-Nung Kuei, the Chairman; and the Laos Depositors Protection Fund (DPF) Ms Sengdaovy Vongkhamsao, the General Director. On the DIV, Mr Nguyen Quang Huy, the Chairman; Mr Dao Quoc Tinh, the General Director; and representatives of the Board of Directors and members from the Managing Board, BOD controllers, and officers from all departments at the DIV headquarters attended the events.
The workshop on “Information sharing and differential premium system” took place successfully with the participation of all the four parties. The speakers made presentations and shared experiences of the banking and deposit insurance systems in their countries, specifically crisis management, information sharing among relevant agencies in financial safety net, data provision of insured institutions to the deposit insurer, differential premium system, law on financial safety net… The workshop draw the excited attention of all participants from four deposit insurers, DIV headquarters officers also joined the Q&A session to learn experiences of fellow institutions.
The roundtable discussion among the four institutions on banking resolution, assets liquidation and recoveries was an activity in the series of multilateral cooperation events. Representatives of DIV, CDIC and IDIC made presentations on the overview of the financial and banking system, bank resolution process and the cooperation of relevant agencies, assets liquidation and recoveries in each jurisdiction. The four parties took their chance to share information and experiences on these issues, then draw lessons for their systems with typical macroeconomic and financial conditions.
Bilateral meetings during the two days 10 and 11 December 2015 between DIV and the three deposit insurers attained practical achievements such as extended MOUs with DPF and CDIC, a discussion with IDIC to prepare an MOU and confirm detailed cooperation plans in coming time.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, DIV Chairman Nguyen Quang Huy expressed his thanks to all guests for their enthusiastic attendance and contributions to the success of the events held by DIV. Chairman Huy also affirmed that the success of this event series would be a premise for further multilateral cooperation activities in future, which would contribute to the development of each member in specific and the IADI in general. Leaders of DPF, CDIC and IDIC also said their sincere thanks to DIV’s considerate reception and effort to successfully organize these events, meanwhile confirmed their commitment to realize further initiatives to promote this friendly multilateral relationship.
