From September 11 to 15, 2023, the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam (DIV) delegation led by Mr. Vu Van Long - Deputy General Director in charge - visited and worked at the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) to gain experience in the examination, handling of weak credit institutions, and human resources training and developing of the KDIC. Participating in the delegation were Mr. Dang Van Toi - Member of the Board of Directors and leaders of related departments and offices of the DIV.

Within the program's framework, the delegation visited KDIC headquarters and had a discussion and working meeting with KDIC Chairman - Mr.JaeHoon Yoo. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vu Van Long - DIV Deputy General Director in charge, emphasized the importance of exchanging and learning knowledge and experience to develop the deposit insurance organization effectively. Mr. Vu Van Long thanked the KDIC for its enthusiastic support in the past. He also expressed his wish for the KDIC to continue sharing experiences, especially in the process of DIV research and prejudice to amend and supplement the Law on Deposit Insurance. In response, Mr. JaeHoon Yoo - KDIC Chairman, expressed his appreciation for the close relationship between the two organizations and said he was always ready to enhance the exchange and cooperation with the DIV in the future.
Through the experience-sharing workshop organized by the KDIC, the DIV's delegation learned knowledge and practical experiences about the independent and coordinated examination activities of KDIC, KDIC's role in handling insolvent credit institutions, KDIC's human resource training and development activities as well as the handling of wrong transactions in Korea. Valuable content shared at the workshop will actively contribute to helping the DIV improve its capacity and effectively apply it to practical activities, reaching the goal of developing an advanced deposit organization insurance.

Also, the delegation visited KDIC's Global Academy and learned about KDIC's Global Training Program. This is an annual program to support capacity building for deposit insurance organizations in the region and around the world. The training content revolves around the professional activities of the deposit insurance organization. Since the Program was first organized in 2017, the DIV has always paid attention and actively sent personnel to participate in learning and exchanging practical experiences on deposit insurance activities.
