On November 20, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai signed Decision 1434/QD-TTg amending Prime Minister’s Decision No. 1394/QD-TTg dated August 13, 2013 on the establishment of the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam (DIV) and regulations on the functions and tasks of the DIV; amending Prime Minister's Decision No. 1395/QD-TTg dated August 13, 2013 on the approval of the charter of organization and operation of the DIV.
Accordingly, Article 1 of the Prime Minister's Decision No. 1394/QD-TTg dated August 13, 2013 on the establishment of the DIV and regulating the functions and tasks of the DIV is amended as follows:
Establish Deposit Insurance of Vietnam under the provisions of the Law on Deposit Insurance dated June 18, 2012.
The DIV's charter capital is 5,281,018,572,109 VND (in Decision No. 1394/QD-TTg dated August 13, 2013, the charter capital of the DIV is 5,000 billion VND).
The DIV has the headquarters in Hanoi city, representative offices and branches in some areas.
The English organizational name used in international transactions is Deposit Insurance of Vietnam, abbreviated as DIV.
In addition, Clause 1, Article 5 of the Charter on the organization and operation of the DIV issued together with the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 1395/QD-TTg dated August 13, 2013 was also altered as follows:
The DIV’s charter capital is 5,281,018,572,109 VND.
This Decision takes effect from the date of signing.
According to Decision No. 1394/QD-TTg dated August 13, 2013, the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam is a state-owned financial institution operating for non-profit purposes in order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of depositors, to implement deposit insurance policies, contributing to maintaining the stability of credit institutions and ensure safe and sound development of banking activities.
The Deposit Insurance of Vietnam operates on the principles of ensuring the safety of its capital and covering its expenses by itself. The Deposit Insurance of Vietnam has legal status, independent accounting, a seal and organizational account under Vietnamese law.
